COVID-19 and eStar Business Continuity

In response to the recent COVID-19 travel restrictions announced in both New Zealand and Australia over the weekend, eStar would like to share with you our current plans.

The New Zealand government has announced a COVID-19 alert level system, New Zealand is currently at Alert Level 3 but are preparing to move to Alert Level 4, at 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020. To comply with these alert levels, eStar has initiated its working from home business continuity phase for its Christchurch office team. As you know, this is a developing situation, and if there are any changes to this approach, we will advise.

Given the higher number of COVID-19 instances in Australia, and the risks associated with public transport, we have made the decision to allow Melbourne team members the option to work from home.

After the Christchurch earthquakes, significant effort was put into ensuring that team members could work from home at a moments notice if required. All team members are required to take their laptops home every night and we are very well equipped to provide full continuity of service to our clients, in the event that this becomes an operational requirement, as it has for our Christchurch office.

eStar understands that eCommerce revenue and the digital channel is now more important than ever, and we have plans and processes in place that mean that we can continue to provide full service to our clients.
